We got up about 7 am, John went for a walk, and I had breakfast. The CG has a laundry facility on site with 2 coin operated washers and dryers. Each machine cost $1 per load. We couldn't get the change machine to accept our dollar bills so we unplugged and plugged it back in a few times and it finally spit out a crumpled up $1 bill that was the problem. So we saved a buck in the deal! Who ever said perseverance doesn't pay off?? While we were waiting for the laundry to dry we decided to give Harvey a good cleaning. John packed lunches while I went down to gather and fold the laundry so we could head to the beach since the forecast was for sunny and 87 degrees. We decided on the beach at Hunting Island State Park about 30 minutes south of Parris Island. Even though we had to pay $5 each to enter, it was a great choice! The whole beach was lined with palm trees, sand dunes, and drift wood and the water was soooo warm. I had a blast looking for shells (I have more for you, sis!) and sharks teeth, John enjoyed walking the beach, and we both had fun watching the sand crabs poke out of their holes.

There were bathroom facilities, showers, and places to rinse off chairs and feet. It was pretty quiet all day until about 5:30 when 10 long-haired dachshunds arrived with their owners!! Apparently they raise them and they brought them on the beach in a wire kennel. They barked A LOT!! We had arrived at the beach about 12 noon and we left at 6 pm. I would have stayed till dark, but John wanted to check out the Marine Air Station a few miles down the road before it got dark. But on the way out we saw a group of people eating fried chicken at a picnic table. We had forgotten to get something out of the freezer to thaw for supper, so we decided to look for a good old southern fried chicken restaurant. We had no luck :( But we had to stop for groceries and guess what... the Publix grocery store had "take-out" chicken. They made some fresh for us and back to Harvey we went to enjoy our chicken and some veggies. By that time we were so hungry, we didn't even change out of our bathing suits before we ate. It was delicious!! John emptied the gray water tank, we cleaned up and went to bed. It was a glorious day. We commented several times today how richly God has blessed us!!
