A Visit to St Simon Island

John took his walk while I slept in till 8:30!  I MUST have been tired!  We ate breakfast and decided to go to St Simon Island.  With some assistance from the visitor's center we headed to East Beach by the Coast Guard station.  It was huge and had a fair amount of "ordinary" shells.  I searched for at least an hour after we arrived.  I had fun even though I didn't find anything too special.  It was warm, about 72 but there was a pretty stiff breeze that at times caused goosebumps.  Hey, at least I wasn't sweating!!  We didn't get in the water at all due to the cool breeze and the water was still a bit "muddy." We ate lunch, read, and played our computer games and about 3:20 decided to leave.  We would go back there again.

You can see Jekyll Island in he distance

We went back to Jekyll to check out the Historic District to see if we should bring our bikes inland to a point and then ride the rest of the way.  We really haven't seen much of Jekyll yet, so we're going to do that tomorrow.  We played a game of Hand and Foot and I had to resign before the game was over because John got too far ahead.  He must have cheated!!  John grilled chicken and pineapple for supper.  The pineapple was especially delicious!  He brushed it with Lawry's Teriyaki w/pineapple juice before grilling.  Then we took our lantern and walked all the way around the CG.  The wind had stopped, so we set-up outside to watch Thursday night football.  After about 30 minutes it got cool, so we went in and went to bed
