Go Phillies!!!!!!!!!!

Our plan for today is to attend a Phillies spring training game.  So we had breakfast and did a few chores and got ready to go.  By the way...I slept like a log last night with my homemade ear plugs!!  We wanted to be on the road by 10:00 for the 1:00 game because I had to drop off a Rx and get "real" ear plugs at CVS, it will take at least an hour to get there, and being the first game and against the Yankees, we figured the traffic and parking would be crazy!  We took the top off of the Jeep and off we went to Clearwater complete with our Phillies jerseys.  It was a beautiful day.  And it was so fun to be rolling down the highway with the sun shining on us and the wind blowing through our hair.  Hmmm...I wonder why I bothered to do my hair!!  We got to the stadium about 11:30.  We stopped at the souvenir stand to get a Phillies garden flag to replace the Penn State one that blew away while at Harbor Lakes.  We also got a hat for my Dad for his birthday in April.  We got a bite to eat and then found our seats.  They were great!  We were only in the sun about 1/2 an hour and then shade the rest of the time.  Even though the temp went up to 97 we were very comfortable in the shade and with the small breeze.  And the Phillies won!!

Larry Bowa and Juan Samuel

I'm pretty sure this is one of my favorite players,
Cole Hamels, pitcher.  He's soooo handsome!

The grassy areas were pretty full, but I was sure glad for the shade!!

The temp mid game... it actually went to 97!

After the game we drove to MacDill Air Force Base.  We wanted to check out the CG.  There are over nearly 400 sites there and believe it or not, it is already full for next Jan and Feb and there are 200 on the waiting list!!  The gal in the office was born and raised in Blue Ball, PA... small world, huh?!?!?  We were not very impressed by the park, so were not too disappointed that it was almost impossible to get in.  We stopped at the exchange store to look for a hat for one of John's former co-workers and for shoes for me that will fit over my new brace.  We were successful on both counts.  Then we gassed up the Jeep and headed home.
This is on the bridge over Tampa Bay.  That's
Tampa is the background.

Look at the neat clouds driving from the McDill CG
to the exchange store.

By the time we got out of the exchange the sun was setting...

...and it created this beautiful scene across the parking lot

We left the top off the Jeep but did have to resort to running the heat just a bit farther into the ride home.  We got back about 7:45, just in time for The Voice.  We ate supper and John went off to the fitness room and to walk while I enjoyed my favorite TV program... those judges are a hoot and the talent is phenomenal!!  John went to bed about 10:00 and I worked on my blog and watched Chicago Fire.  I went to bed and tried the new ear plugs.  Guess what... my homemade ones worked better!!

  2. The pictures are great Cindy and I can't believe it's that warm down there. Snowing and treacherous roads here this morning, but hopefully this is the last snow storm of the season. John's former co-workers says thanks for picking up the AF ball cap. Go Phillies!
