A Shopping Day...John's Idea!!

When John got back from his walk at 9:00 I was still asleep.  I guess that late night took a lot out of me?
Pictures from Driftwood Beach

As neat as it is...

...it looks so desolate!  There have been 2 weddings
on this beach since we're here.

These are some of the marshes along John's walking trail.

He came in to make sure I was still breathing and I woke up.  We discussed what to do today and JOHN suggested we go shopping!!  We needed some groceries and toiletries and there was a Bealls Outlet I wanted to check out.  We had some breakfast, got ready to go and were on the road by 11:30.  We stopped at Dick's to check out screen houses, but no luck.  Michaels was next door, so I got a few pieces on clearance for my pin making.  It was about 1:00 and there was a Highway 55 Diner right around the corner, so we decided to eat there.  When we were in NC at Camp Lejeune someone had recommended it to us, so we thought we'd try it.  It is basically a hamburger joint with neat 50's/60's décor and reasonable prices.  We enjoyed it!

One of the managers told us this was the very first Hwy 55.

There are more than 170 of them extending up thru NC
and they are planning to open 170 more!

We ordered their "Award Winning" lemonade and orangeade.
I thought they might taste good together...NOT!
Then off to Walmart and Winn Dixie.  There was a Big Lots next to the grocery store, so I went in there and sent John to get the groceries.  Well, Winn Dixie didn't have Martin's potato rolls (either does Walmart), so we found a Publix.  We had found them there in NC.  But, they didn't have them in GA :(  We had to settle for Arnolds.  It was 3:00 by now and we were shopped out.  I'll catch Bealls Outlet another day.  So we came back to Harvey, watched some football, and then John took a nap.  When he got up the Michigan/Michigan State game was almost over.  Michigan was up by 2 pts and had 4th and 2 with 10 seconds left.  They decided to punt.  Well, holy cow, the punter fumbled the snap, it jumped right into the hands of a Michigan State player and he ran it into the end zone.  What a miraculous finish!!  We ate salads with some leftover steak John had grilled earlier in the week and now we're watching the Penn St/Ohio St game.  Penn St looks pretty good so far.  Let's hope it continues that way!  Well, it didn't. They lost 38-10 and really didn't look that good... no consistency!
We went to bed as soon as the game was over.
